Contract Studio Model

San Francisco Art Institute is recruiting models for an anatomy drawing class.

Models are expected to hold poses up to 20 minutes in length. Body awareness and the ability to accentuate the 3-dimensional qualities of the figure in poses are highly desirable.  Also, defined musculature as well lean body types are preferable for the anatomy class. Little to no tattoos. Prominent tattoos will need to be covered with opaque makeup.

Models work in collaboration with the instructor during class hours and models must work collegially with the faculty member, be punctual, and record their hours after each working session. Must be at ease posing nude. Work is part-time contract and requires a flexible schedule.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Position Details

Perform a variety of poses while maintaining a strict adherence to the rule of propriety and professional conduct.

Physical Demands

  • Hold a pose for up to 20 minutes, with 10 minute breaks in between. 
  • Perform physical activities that require standing, sitting, gesturing, and reclining with little movement. 
  • Studio classes are 3 hours long

Work Environment

  • Interaction with students while in the classroom is not permitted. 
  • Work environment involves the use of graphite, charcoal, and other drawing materials. 
  • Work in the nude among groups of students
