Call for Artists to Lead 2020 Public Education Courses

SFAI Public Education is accepting applications for the 2020 summer and fall terms.

We are looking for course proposals by experienced, dynamic artists with a commitment to teaching. SFAI’s Public Education program offers noncredit evening and weekend courses span the breadth of contemporary art—from traditional techniques in drawing, painting, photography, film, printmaking, and sculpture to radical excursions in food, art, meditation, and mapping. We look forward to fostering new relationships with artists that are interested in enhancing the quality of courses offered to our students.

About Public Education at SFAI
Course offerings at SFAI encourage students in their conceptual and technical development, while building basic knowledge and confidence in the areas of art history and theory, design + technology, drawing, film, painting, photography, printmaking, new genres, sculpture, and combined art practices. In addition, we will consider proposals which link to Art Institute events, including exhibitions, lectures, and artist residencies. Courses typically meet once a week for 4-12 three-hour sessions and take place at the 800 Chestnut St. campus. We also accept proposals for innovative weekend workshops.

Adult Continuing Education classes are taken by students from a diverse population of beginning to advance practicing artists, art educators, and working professionals, representing all ages and backgrounds.
