Opening Reception: May 1 | 5–7pm (Artist Talks @ 5:30pm)
Graduating Post-Baccalaureate artists transform SFAI’s Diego Rivera Gallery into a dynamic exhibition of multi-disciplinary works—free + open to all!
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
The show’s title, Rich Silences, is taken from a quote by Michel de Certeau, in which he describes the remarkable abundance of stories hidden in the everyday. Artists in this exhibition attempt to question and reimagine the traditional definition and roles of gender, exam-oriented education, modes of communication and the value of mundane objects.
Curated by Sherwin Rio and Yida Li.
Participating Artists: Evelyn Hang Yin, Yida Li, Kate Smith, and Yourong Zhao; Faculty: Reagan Louie.
