Photography Workshop: Saturday, December 14 | 10am–3pm (at SFAI–Chestnut Street Campus, 800 Chestnut St.)
Youth from all of the City Studio sites will be exhibiting their drawings, paintings, animations, characters, prints, banners, books and ceramic sculptures in this culmination of the great work they have done during the fall semester. Students from the Mission, the Excelsior, the Tenderloin, SOMA and beyond were led by lead artists Tom Colcord, Kate Laster, Steph Kudisch, Yiling Zeng and Miles MacDiarmid. Also assisting in these dynamic classes are Glory Rubio (former City Studio youth and now TA at Columbia Park and future portfolio mentor), current City Studio Practicum students Taylor Berry, Rachel Dean and Katerina Camejo and local artist and SFAI alum Cheryl Meeker. All are invited to view the work done by these talented youth and hear them talk about their process.
Preceding the celebration is an all day photography workshop "From Digital to Darkroom" at the 800 Chestnut Street campus led by Alex Peterson and Luis Munoz-Najar.
