Salon Ouvert (Open Salon) is a salon-style exhibition showcasing works in any medium from any eligible artist in the SFAI community of artists. Open to all graduate students who submit, Salon Ouvert is curated through the grouping together of works that are felt to be in conversation with one another, as a way to further explore the dialogues between works.
At the opening of Salon Ouvert on Friday November 30, viewers will be invited to cast their votes for Best in Show, and the results will be announced near the closing of the opening night. The top three works will be awarded a cash prize, and will be featured in the arts publication Free Underground News. Additionally, the top three works will be put on display on the Schafer Gallery Outside Wall in the concurrent exhibition Best in Show.
Through this show we would like to celebrate the artists of SFAI as well as bring artists’ works together into one space and create a greater dialogue between artists of the community.
Curated by Joseph Robertson.
