Waterscapes depicts important issues of water and severe drought in California, navigating its scarcity and increasing commoditization. As the source of life on this planet, water will not only continue to grow as a globally-relevant issue as more people require it, but could become the next devastation.

Vince Baworouski’s work deals with photo documentation of the water shortage, and the infrastructure built around transportation of this resource. Mitchell Yee’s work looks at the destination of most of California’s water—vast farmland in the valleys of Southern California, far from the water’s source. Brian Dean’s work is centered around the use and abuse of the water that is all around us: the San Francisco Bay.
