ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
YOU WERE HERE is a collection of interdisciplinary artwork about technological mediations that intersect with human migration. Technology has changed the distance of time and geography whether it's the history of a family, or the recent distance from a whole another continent. To illustrate this state of 'being between' this show displays interactive work and art that reveals more narrative content after further investigation. There is always something beneath the surface. Sculpture reveals sound, seemingly ordinary objects are encoded with locational memory, images will be presented with a sculptural mindset with both front and back available for the viewer to explore. Artists will share work about permanence, cultural memory, fluidity of place. YOU WERE HERE is a map of the intangible and the emotional.
