In the process of better understanding what we know by questioning why we know it, four artists are “making the familiar strange” (sociologist C. W. Mills). Through positioning the viewer as a visitor to alternative scopes of reality, our works provoke questions about what’s real within their own. Sparked by experiences of alienation for perspectives that reject or diverge from the norm, we seek to bridge divides, offer portals into other universes, and share complex viewpoints with one another. By exploring the realms of fantasy and science fiction, the certainty of time, space, and truth is rendered open for discussion.
