Strange Stirring is a solo show exhibiting the work of Mika Sperling.

The film Strange Stirring reflects upon isolation, alienation and the longing for intimacy and closeness in a metropolis such as Singapore. Captivated in an artificial beauty, I felt compelled to encounter people who seemed lost. Vanessa, a transgender sexworker who felt betrayed in life due to facing so much abuse and mistreatment, was one of them. We first started communicating through a LGTBQ group on Facebook and later met up in one of her hotel rooms for an hour between her seeing two clients.
