Opening reception for Planes, a group show curated by Laurus Myth and features student artists Can Büyükberber, Tom Colcord, and Laurus Myth.

Planes is a playful exploration of space on 2D and 3D surfaces. Our collaboration uses color and form as language to depict fantastical cognitive states. The visual works vary in concept from anxious existence, elementary comprehension, and a shifted perspective of space to explore the hyper-fraction of reality. These works utilize complex arrangements of graphic nature to explore ancient and modern techniques creating a conversation with cognition and consciousness. Using computational design techniques with a digital fabrication method, some work involves projection mapping while using the wall to present digital and physical modified planes. Creating a visual perception through the space, the works are seen as changing portals that bridge to higher dimensional planes.
