This exhibition sifts through perceptions of home through multiple lenses, primarily those of interaction with familiar objects in a known personal space, and also the search for domestic familiarity in a “foreign” environment. Homes harbor representations of our socially constructed identities, and complicate the conventional performance of banal life since artists are often compelled to challenge societal norms. Home is examined as an intimate feeling/setting in an effort to descry a cherished dwelling. This work looks closely at scenes of “everyday” life to develop narratives of the specific.
Curated by Danielle Melen, the exhibition features Danielle Melen, Rosemary Ye, Wyn Distefano.
