Chasing Vapors: Shaping Histories of Ephemeral Art
A doctoral candidate in the History of Art at UC Berkeley, Laura Richard works in modern and contemporary art with a designated emphasis in film. She is currently completing her dissertation on the early film and room works of Maria Nordman. During the five years preceding graduate school, Richard was editor-in-chief of ArtWeek magazine. She has been a writing tutor at San Quentin through the Prison University Project and has taught contemporary art and writing composition at UC Berkeley and San Francisco Art Institute, where she is Faculty Head of the Low-Residency MFA Program.
