Discover the creative potential of printing in layers on the letterpress. This dynamic class combines three different printmaking techniques, allowing you to create a series of beautiful prints with both intentional design and chance overlaps. Students will learn three processes pressure printing (drawing rich texture from objects creating a low relief surface), linoleum block printing (a traditional relief method using hand-carved blocks), and polymer plate printing, (inviting the integration of digital media and typography). Treat yourself to a weekend of creative play and leave with an inspiring series of prints!

Macy Chadwick publishes artist’s books and limited-edition prints under the imprint In Cahoots Press. In her art practice, Macy strives to reveal that which is unspoken: to make tangible the ephemeral, to make visual our human experience and interactions. Macy received an MFA in Book Arts and Printmaking from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She currently resides in Oakland, California, and is a faculty member at Academy of Art University and San Francisco Art Institute. Macy's work is in prominent collections in the U.S. and abroad.
