Finishing a painting all in one sitting is a rite of passage for oil painters; this exciting, wet into wet mode of working is fast-paced and full of curiosities. In this intermediate to advanced painting course you will develop a whole new body of work by painting one oil painting each class session. Both your portfolio and painting skills will grow rapidly with this type of extensive practice. You will learn to make painting decisions quickly, becoming more versatile and technically adept in your work. You will develop skills in drawing with oil paint. Class discussions and group critiques will also help to advance your painting practice.
Ingrid V. Wells has been painting for close to a decade, having shown internationally, she earned her MFA from San Francisco Art Institute.. Her work fancies the fantastic and humorous in theme and the charming, the kitschy, and the celebrity in subject. Wells’s paintings investigate the world of gendered consumerism and the ethics of fascination. Her work has been featured in The Huffington Post, Daily Mail, BUST Magazine, and Teen Vogue, among others. Wells currently lives and works in San Francisco.
