Born in Tennessee in 1986, Walt returned to Lawrence, Kansas to be with family after his graduate work at SFAI. Walt serves on the board of directors for a local non-profit art space, teaches yoga, and has worked as a social worker for many years. He continues to push his art for detail and content, focusing an abstract criticisms of modernism as it relates to institutions and the body. His work explores a continuum of stress, training, and abuse, as functions of society in an attempt to inoculate sophisticated formalist contexts with a DIY aesthetic.
