Vanesa Gingold’s sculptures create dynamic interiors and exteriors, an interplay of concealing and revealing, of surface and structure. Delicate handmade paper stretches and tears over intricately constructed armatures, suggesting states of genesis or decay.
Gingold received her MFA from UC Santa Barbara and degrees in Art and Psychology from UC Davis. Vanesa has exhibited broadly, recently in the exhibitions “Volupté” in San Francisco, “Everything All at Once”, and “Desire Trails” in Los Angeles. She has worked with numerous galleries, museums and organizations, including the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Creativity Explored, San Francisco Arts Commission, SF City College and the University of California as an artist, curator and teacher.
