Megan Bayles

Megan Bayles, PhD, researches bodies as sites of knowledge production. Her fields of interest include disability studies, body theory, medical history, science and technology studies, visual culture, and material culture. She is currently working on a book project, The Death of the Clinic, which analyzes recent shifts in clinical power dynamics and the racialized and gendered medical discourses surrounding “grassroots diseases.” She is also the co-editor, with Achy Obejas, of the anthology Immigrant Voices: 21st Century Stories.
