In 2014 Butler had a solo show of paintings at the Charlie James Gallery in Los Angeles and was pleased to be included in State Of The Art: Discovering American Art Now, at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. In 2013, his work was included in Approximately Infinite Universe, at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego.
