Lia Sutton is a New York City-born artist and educator, based in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York. Sutton’s work is propelled by play, embodiment, and movement. She has exhibited her sculpture, drawing, printmaking, video and participatory art work nationally and internationally. She is an artist in residence at Kala Art Institute in Berkeley, CA. She received her MFA from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and her BA from Hampshire College in Amherst, MA. She also studied at the Escuela de Arte Útil with Tania Bruguera at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, CA.
