Debra Bloomfield

Adjunct Faculty
Photography and MFA Faculty

Debra Bloomfield has worked in the landscape for 35 years, producing large-scale color photographs. Her most recent series, "Wilderness" (2014), explores the relationship between interiority and the external world with questions about land use. In 2007, Bloomfield began incorporating field recordings into her working methodology. Created over five years in Alaska, "Wilderness" is equal parts art and environmental advocacy.

Bloomfield’s past work includes the monographs "Four Corners" (2004) and "Still: Oceanscapes" (2008). In San Francisco she is represented by Robert Koch Gallery, and has been an educator in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1977.
