Claire Daigle directs the MA and Dual Degree Programs at San Francisco Art Institute, where she is an Associate Professor in the History and Theory of Contemporary Art. She received her Ph.D. in art history from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York; her dissertation was titled, Reading Barthes/Writing Twombly. Her writing explores the entanglements of visual art, theory, and contemporary fiction. It has appeared in the Brooklyn Rail, Tate etc, Sculpture, New Art Examiner, X-tra, Art Papers and numerous exhibition catalogs. Her first short story is forthcoming in The Anthology of Babel (Ed Simon, ed., Punctum Books, 2019). In 2015, Daigle received an Andy Warhol Foundation/Creative Capital Art Writers Grant for her ongoing web-based collection of essays, Figuring Fiction (figuringfiction.net).
