Christina Stevenson, Ph.D., is an instructor of Modernist literature interested in questions of space, sexual difference, and language.  Her article on Virginia Woolf was recently published in Pacific Coast Philology, with articles on Proust and Freud forthcoming.  Stevenson's next project will research the postcolonial survival of Woolf's fantasy of the room as an ironic embodiment of feminine subjectivity, with close readings of Elizabeth Bowen, Jean Rhys, and Doris Lessing.
