Making History

The Campaign for San Francisco Art Institute

SFAI has an unprecedented opportunity to strengthen its service to artists and the community, and create a major cultural destination on San Francisco’s northern waterfront.

Under the leadership of a committed Board of Trustees, SFAI will:

  • Transform Pier 2 at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture into graduate studios and spaces for public engagement
  • Restore and enhance its iconic 800 Chestnut Street campus

Construction will begin at Pier 2 in Summer 2016, with an opening date of Fall 2017. Get a first look at the project here.

SFAI has currently raised more than $9 million in gifts and pledges toward a total campaign goal of $24 million. To learn how you can support art and artists in the Bay Area and help SFAI make history, contact Maureen Keefe, Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations, at 415.749.4577 or
