Fort Point Beer Company Beer Garden » 6 pm
Interdisciplinary artist, filmmaker, and experimental publisher Jonn Herschend utilizes quotidian systems—PowerPoint presentations, academic lectures, photographic evidence, infomercials, and educational videos—to deploy and complicate questions of truth. He is co-founder (with Will Rogan) of The Thing Quarterly—an object-based subscription service that disseminates original, limited-edition artworks. He has exhibited at SITE Santa Fe; SFMOMA; Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; and the 2014 Whitney Biennial.
Fort Point Beer Company was founded in 2014 by brothers Tyler and Justin Catalana. The brewery resides in a historic Presidio building that was formerly used as an army motor pool. Building on the success of their five-year old restaurant Mill Valley Beerworks, they established Fort Point to experiment with a new spin on traditional craft beer varieties like a San Francisco-style IPA, a Kölsch-style ale, and a hoppy wheat beer.
Craft beer, non-alcoholic beverages, and a special al fresco dinner menu will be available for purchase directly following the lecture. Music provided by the DJs of SFAI’s own The Tower Radio.
