Exploring Digital Photography

No prerequisite. Students must bring their own SLR camera with manual functions.

Materials List

This introductory digital photography course will provide you with a solid foundation of how to use and get the most out of your digital camera. Personal assignments will give you in-class experience of camera operations, basic editing skills in Adobe Photoshop and knowledge of contemporary photographers working in the medium. Each class will combine a lecture or discussion, hands-on demonstrations and studio time for you to complete projects and get individualized instruction and feedback to further your personal photographic voice.

Dana Morrison lives and works in San Francisco, California, where she recently received her Master of Fine Arts degree at the San Francisco Art Institute.  She was awarded the Best of Show Grant for the 2016 SFAI Graduate Thesis Exhibition.   She was also recently awarded the Murphy and Cadogan Contemporary Art Award through the San Francisco Foundation and SOMArts Gallery.  Although Dana uses a variety of mediums, she focuses on sculpture, photography and video.

Dana grew up in central Pennsylvania and obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography at the Maryland Institute College of Art.
