Megan Bayles is a doctoral candidate in Cultural Studies at the University of California, Davis. Her research is located at the intersections of body theory, medical history, freak and disability studies, museum studies, visual culture and material culture. Her current work focuses on the histories and theories of human bodies on display, particularly in museum contexts. She is also a freelance editor, and recently co-edited (with Achy Obejas) Immigrant Voices: 21st Century Stories (Great Books Foundation, 2014), a collection of short stories by immigrant writers in the U.S.
