Lisa Reinertson is nationally and internationally known for her life-size figurative ceramic sculptures and over 20 large-scale public commissions cast in bronze, including works based on the lives of Martin Luther King and Cesar Chavez. Recent exhibitions include a mid-career retrospective at the American Museum of Ceramic Art and oneperson exhibition, "Edge of Extinction", at the Pence Gallery. Reinertson’s work has also shown at the Crocker Art Museum, Cantor Arts Center, Stanford University, the Museo Internationale Della Ceramica in Faenza, Italy and the ASU Art Museum. Reinertson’s artwork combines realism rooted in figurative art traditions with a contemporary expression of social, political and psychological content.
