Lisa O’Reilly - PE Bio Thumbnail

Lisa O'Reilly is an installation sculptor and conceptual artist whose work explores relationships between the body, time, place, nature, and community. As the founding director of headquarters, an artist-centered experimental space in Berkeley, she invites creative thinkers to work together to positively impact each other, society, and the environment. Using this collaborative approach, O’Reilly has been lucky enough to work with a diverse group of well over 100 artists, scholars, writers, and musicians to transform headquarters into an ever-changing installation sculpture and community resource. She holds an MA in Visual Studies and a BS in Environmental Education and Art Practice from UC Berkeley. As a longtime teaching artist, she has taken extensive coursework in arts education at California College of the Arts, John F. Kennedy University, SFMOMA, BAM, and Harvard's Graduate School of Education. Working with friends at 3 am, two nights before a show opening, is her favorite time in the studio.
